Halo Chat saves your conversations so you can reference past discussions, continue previous chats, and search through your history.
Accessing Conversation History
Your conversation history is accessible from the Halo Chat sidebar:
- Recent Chats: Your most recent conversations appear at the top
- All Conversations: Scroll down to see older conversations
- Search: Use the search bar to find specific conversations
Managing Conversations
Renaming Conversations
Conversations are automatically named from your first real message (first line, shortened for the header). Start Project threads start as Start project, then switch to [Tool name] project after you choose a project type. In the full-width header, long titles may truncate with an ellipsis—hover to see the full title. To rename manually:
- Hover over the conversation in the sidebar
- Click the three-dot menu
- Select "Rename"
- Enter a new name
Deleting Conversations
To delete a conversation:
- Hover over the conversation in the sidebar
- Click the three-dot menu
- Select "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
Deleted conversations cannot be recovered. Make sure you don't need the content before deleting.
Search Tips
Use the search bar to find past conversations:
- Keywords: Search for specific topics or phrases
- Tool Names: Search for conversations where specific tools were suggested
- Dates: Conversations are organized chronologically
Give your important conversations descriptive names to make them easier to find later.
