Complete a useful Discovery brief

Capture the client’s current situation and early hypotheses in the Brand Foundation Project.

Capture the client’s current situation and early hypotheses in the Brand Foundation Project.

Use assumptions as questions to test

Record what the client believes separately from what you have evidence for. Add the business problem, goals, constraints, existing audience, and open questions. An early hypothesis is useful even when it later changes.

For example, ‘buyers seem to compare us on setup effort’ is a question for research. It should not become a published differentiator until you have made and reviewed that strategic choice.

Capture Discovery

  1. Open Strategy → Discovery or the foundation project’s Discovery tab.
  2. Record the client’s current situation, business context, goals, constraints, assumptions, open questions, and early hypotheses.
  3. Complete at least 50% of the tracked brief for foundation activation. Fill the remaining fields as you learn more.
  4. Use Research to support, challenge, or refine those assumptions before treating them as strategy.

Use the Brand Foundation Project

Each brand has a foundation project that anchors its strategy work. It is pinned and protected from ordinary archive/delete actions. Build the strategy through the Strategy navigation; organize delivery and sharing from the project.

  • Overview: project context, progress, and next actions.
  • Discovery: the brief and early hypotheses.
  • Research: evidence scoped to this project.
  • Deliverables: strategy document generators and project-generated assets.
  • Portal: draft package and project sharing controls.
  • Activity: the project’s activity history.
