Decisions: your strategic source of truth

Record formal strategic choices in the Decisions library and Decision Matrix — the primary fuel for Brand Intelligence.

Decisions are the formal strategic choices that power your brand. Unlike insights (which are synthesis from evidence) or workshop answers (which are inputs), decisions are the approved source of truth Halo Chat, Halo Studio, deliverables, and Review read first when generating or checking work.

📍 How to Access

Open Decisions from the Strategy submenu in the sidebar, or go directly to /decisions. Decisions are part of the paid spine.

List view and Decision Matrix

📋 List view

Every recorded decision with its category, rationale, and links back to the insight or evidence it came from.

🧮 Decision Matrix

A coverage view that tracks which strategy categories already have an approved decision and which are still missing — so you can see gaps at a glance.

How decisions get created

1
Approve an insight

On Insights, approve a candidate so its synthesis is validated. Approved (or client-validated) insights can become decisions.

2
Create the decision

Use Create decision on an approved insight, or add a decision directly on /decisions. Once an insight has a decision it shows a Decision created badge and a View decision link.

3
It becomes active context

Active decisions feed Brand Intelligence first, ahead of approved strategy fields, Brand Rules, and supporting insights. Check What AI uses on Brand Intelligence to confirm what's live.

💡 Decisions vs insights vs workshops

Workshops and Sources are inputs. Insights are synthesis you approve. Decisions are the approved choices AI relies on. Promoting work into decisions is what makes generations feel on-brand.

💡 Pro Tip

Use the Decision Matrix before a launch. Missing categories there are usually why a tool's output feels generic — fill the gap with a decision, then regenerate.
